As many of you know, our fearless Brilliant Ink leader, Liz, has been expecting her first child. Well, the wait is finally over! Liz and her husband, Tom, welcomed a precious little girl last week — Claire Maya Kelly arrived very punctually on her due date of August 2 at 2:47 a.m., weighing 8 pounds exactly.
The whole Kelly clan is healthy, happy and doing well, and all of us at Brilliant Ink couldn’t be more thrilled. Here are our thoughts and wishes for Claire and her family, including a special photo treatment from our design partner extraordinaire, Ben Munday (who claims to be better with pictures than words – and that’s totally okay with us).
We welcome all of our clients, friends and readers to share their thoughts as well.
Congratulations on the arrival of the tiny communications director – she’ll be setting the schedule, getting everyone’s attention and making sure her message is heard. When can she join the Brilliant Ink team?

My advice for Liz and Tom: Don’t waste a lot of time and energy comparing yourselves to other parents, or trying to be perfect – just be the best parents you can be. There’s no such thing as being perfect when it comes to parenting. All your daughter needs is your unconditional love and the rest will fall in to place.

Dear Mommy and Daddy,
I’m still getting to know you, but I thought that I’d share a few things about me:
– I like to eat breakfast (and all my meals) in my pj’s.
– I like grabbing everyone’s attention, and I’ve been doing a great job stealing the show lately!
– When I cry in the middle of the night, it’s just because I want to see your smiling faces and get a big hug.
Love,
Claire
Congratulations, Liz and Tom! Here’s to the beginning of an adventure with Claire filled with loads of happiness and laughter. I can’t wait to get to know our newest writer and communicator!

Welcome to the world, brilliant baby Claire! And congratulations to her super (and super sleepy) parents. Let the adventures begin!

To my amazing colleague and dear friend Liz, welcome to motherhood! As I am sure you have learned in the past week, it is a challenging but absolutely wonderful experience unlike anything else. I know that you will be a complete success, as you have in so many other aspects of your life.
To the smitten new daddy Tom, keep doing what you are doing. You are a wonderfully supportive and understanding husband and person in general, and all of that will translate so well to being a father.
To baby Claire, get ready – your future boyfriend is due to arrive in about a month!
