The challenge

Defeating diabetes is the stated mission of one of our large pharmaceutical clients, and it’s also a tall order — by the end of last year, the estimated number of people with diabetes was expected to climb to 28 million. To make their mission a reality, the company relies on its dedicated, enthusiastic and driven sales force. However, they also face a challenge many of our clients have in common: limited bandwidth and lots of responsibilities. That’s exactly why the field sales communications team enlisted Brilliant Ink to collaborate on communications that would fuel sales performance and inspire success.

What we did

Established a plan of attack

  • Partnered with senior manager of field sales communications to craft a dynamic, strategic plan outlining 2010 communications activities.
  • Plan included key milestones, timing for communications activities to be rolled out throughout the year.

Armed leaders with communications tools and resources

  • Worked together to create and distribute monthly leadership tips, sent to all mid-level sales managers.
  • Formalized leadership communications process: systemized ongoing executive voicemails and emails, identified messaging themes for various leaders, and more.
  • Collaborated on regular State of the Business Messages from Area Vice Presidents to reinforce key business strategies while still allowing flexibility for customization.

Provided fast turnaround, arms and legs support for sales communications team

  • Pitched in on ad-hoc, ongoing communications needs, including weekly news updates and intranet content, leadership communications, and more.
  • Created field sales team year-end survey, tabulated and analyzed results.
  • Set wheels in motion for innovative new program to foster deeper connection to patients.
